THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH

The purpose of Glenolden Congregational Church is to worship God, make disciples, serve others, and walk together in love and unity as a family in Jesus Christ.

What is a congregational church?

First and foremost, a Congregationalist church is a Christian church.  All that we are, past, present, and future, resides in the grace of God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Members of the Congregational Church are bound to one another by a covenant that expresses our faith in Christ and our commitment to the Church
OUR PASTOR

Words from Pastor Williams E. Bounds

We, thank and Praise God for the opportunity to serve God in this capacity.  I am equally thankful to be serving at the Glenolden Congregational Church.  As the Lord leads I will preach the Word of God and teach at every opportunity and for the continued growth of the body of Christ.

My prayer for the church that the Lord will lead us to our purpose.  My prayer is through the leading of the Holy Spirit we will impact the community.  That we will impact the community in such a way that families will be lead to the saving grace of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My hope is that through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word we will  become closer to God and each other.  In these dark and uncertain days, our society faces, we need to know that God is with us to bring the light through that darkness.  To make a difference in who we are as Christians

     My desire is:

  • To aid those in need.
  • To help bridge the gaps in our society and to be a part of the solution.
  • To help put an end to the senseless violence.
  • To assist in providing a better place for our children, grandchildren and great – grandchildren to live and grow.
  • To aid in each of us in fulfilling our purpose and that  our service of the Lord that it will be filled with Joy!
  • To hear the Lord say ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!
